do any of you zoners eat wierd combinations? like i have a cousin who dips her french fires in her ice cream.

Post 2 by BB (move over school!) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 23:47:37

I use to dip pickles into my diet coke. Don't ask me my mother showed me about this combo when I was little. I haven't done this for a long time now. Looking back on it, does sound kind of gross.

Post 3 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 1:55:11

Not me personally but someone I know dipped his cake in his vegetable soup.

Post 4 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 2:03:10

I think, although it doesn't taste bad at all, something I do that my parents don't like is that I mix some of my food together. Some examples are that I'll mix my meat and mashed potatoes and corn, or my fried eggs with the bacon and beans, or my enchiladas with my rice and beans and salad. I guess I do that to make the texture interesting for me, and it's just easier for me to eat like that. Of course, I only do this with foods that it would probably make sense to do it with, like I wouldn't mix a sweet food with a savory or sour one, it would depend on what I was eating.

Post 5 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 2:13:35

Although that probably wasn't a weird combination, as far as meals go, I do get told by my parents and brothers and I'm weird for mixing my food and that it doesn't look good to them, meaning that if it came like that, they wouldn't want to eat it. Anyways, some actual weird combinations I eat are fries with Ranch salad dressing or tartar sauce, potatoes and eggs with catsup, and sausatge or bacon covered with syrup if I am eating it as a side to pancakes or waffles.

Baked beans and sardines with a hot chilli sliced up among it. Gaucamole and crushed pistachio nuts, watermelon, greek yoghurt and vodka smoothie.

Post 10 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 12:20:39

Yeah, it is, isn't it? Well, I haven't really done any of those crazy things mentioned above, but my grandad makes these mean chicken curries and he has three or four bowls of raisins, currants and sultanas, sliced banana and mango chutney. They're really nice with a medium/hot curry. It takes some of the hot spice out of it if it's too much for you and the sweetness of the chutney's sort of gives it well, an exotic feel. I used to pour fruit yoghurt or juice over a bowl of Muesli or cornflakes for a change, and mum used to make me these scratch suppers with strips of cheese with slices of apple mixed together in a bowl. Mum also dips gingernut biscuits in a glass of white wine. That's really nice apparently.

Post 11 by Jess227 on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 22:49:43

I've seen friends dip their soft pretzels in manaze. Others dip their french fries into cheese wiz! Talk about discusting!

Post 12 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 2:33:03

Well goblin, the banana thing sounds good, with brown sugar and cinamon and whisky - my father often does that. *smiles* and chocolate cream on chips ... just no.

Post 13 by cuddle_kitten84 (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 9:55:13

euwwwwww, some of these sound disgusting, i know a blind friend who thought she was cooking beans and potatos, but the tins weren't labelled, and she ended up with chocolate sponge pudding and beans.

Post 14 by Austin's Angel (move over school!) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 11:33:25

this is getting really interesting, and rather funny.

Post 15 by Grace (I've now got the ggold prolific poster award! wahoo! well done to me!) on Saturday, 25-Mar-2006 10:34:26

B-B..that reminds me...There was a time several years ago when a bottle of Coke and one of those great big deli pickles would help make an upset tummy feel all better! *Really

Post 16 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 26-Mar-2006 4:04:36

I'd probably try the french fries and Cheese Whiz thing actually. It's fries with chese! *smiles* And the salami and tartar sauce sounds kind of interesting also; *smiles*, I'd probably want to try that. CG, that's kind of a weird combination, as long as it's not all mixed, it doesn't seem too weird though. But if you just like eating them in one meal, then my family does that too sometimes, where we'll have leftovers, and we just finish it with our next meal, even if it doesn't seem to make sense together. And, actually, I wanted to mention a couple of other combinations: I've heard of peanut butter-and-banana sandwitches, but that's something that I can't see myself eating. And eggs and mayonaise; one of my uncles used to eat that. Yuck! I couldn't eat that either! *smiles*

Post 17 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Sunday, 26-Mar-2006 6:44:17

You can get little pots of egg mayo at the supermarket. Mum used to get them for me. Some have bacon mixed in with them as well.

Post 18 by Nage (Your father's friend's daughter's roommate's niece) on Sunday, 26-Mar-2006 13:40:08

Hahaha. This is getting amuzing. Lol. I dip my frenchfried in ice cream too, but only if it's chocolate ice cream. Or a milkshake. It's really good. As for peanut butter and banana it's great! Ok, this may sound reley weird, but I love chocolate with the tinies bit of ketchup or mustard on it. not any chocolate though. chocolate coins. it is sooo good! And, hmm. I accidentally dropped a sour worm in nacho cheese, and it was alright. So I'll eat that once in a while. Most of the time I'll mix really weird foos up too, but my friend takes the cake for that, she eats rice and spagheti.

Post 19 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 26-Mar-2006 14:19:14

Ewww Kay, the chocoalte spunch pudding and been combination sounds just ... yuck. No. Lol

Post 20 by tara (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Sunday, 26-Mar-2006 16:03:20

Well, I used to know someone who ate sugar and cress sandwiches. and I've got a friend who likes crumpets with jam and brown sauce. As for me, I can't think of anything apart from macdonald's vanilla milkshake and macdonald's chips, that's alright!

Post 21 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 2:55:15

Well Tazz I wouldn'T mind that either. Lol - how about some peech juice in a vegetable soup? Lol no, not me, a former school mate.

Post 22 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 8:54:07

Yeah, or how about some chilli sauce in your apple juice. Come on guys, get a grip!

Post 23 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 8:57:08

Yuck!!! Lol Or some chilly sauce in your pudding? Hehehehe.

Post 24 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 9:36:42

When i was little, I used to like peanut butter and rice krispies sandwiches. Actually, I probably still like them... Just haven't had one in years. Hmmmmmmm. What else? Let's see... Chips, (EG french fries), with beef gravy, or, blue cheese, are good. Ah well, now that I decided to write a post, I don't remember anything else I was going to say! Oh well. If I remember, I'll be back.

Post 25 by tara (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 18:17:50

I think that peanut buttter and jam sandwiches just seems weird to me, I mean, I know the Americans eat it a lot, but well, it's just, um, gross!

Post 26 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 18:24:22

Well no, a few of us in the UK have been known to eat them as well. I've made a couple for lunch myself.

Post 27 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 1:24:13

Peanut-butter and Jam ... naw, not my thing.

Post 28 by Jess227 on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 4:36:57

PB&J is def. grose. I do love however toasted peanut butter sandwiches once in a while. Here's another grose combo..... Another dipping sauce for pretzels (hard or soft) chocolate sauce!!!!!!!!!1 Just the thought of baked pretzel dough and choclate...... yuck. Of course my friend Jay ate it before of course he eats anything wheather it's a nasty combo or not. Blind-Bandit is the only person I know that can come up with wierd concauctions. Like mustard sandwiches. And pasta with hot sauce.

Recently, when I went to a Mexican restoraunt, I had a salad that had, dried strips of corn tortillas, lettuce, chicken, cheese, corn, cucumber, and tomatoes, plus some ranch dressing and crutons to add to it. It actually tasted pretty good! *smile*

Post 35 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 14-Jul-2006 3:20:31

Here are some more. Bagels with cream cheese and green stuffed olives. That is great! Well, when you don't have smoked salmon handy that is... also, I like bacon and peanut butter sandwiches, or, peanut butter and banana sandwiches, cutting the banana length wise and frying it in butter does the trick!

Post 36 by Rune Knight (Ancient Demon - Darkness will always conquer Light!) on Friday, 14-Jul-2006 3:46:17

Post 40 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 01-Aug-2006 23:18:43

I like pizza with blue cheese dressing or pizza with hot buffalo chicken wing sauce. or, pizza with garlic butter. Only the crust though mind you.

Post 41 by Austin's Angel (move over school!) on Wednesday, 02-Aug-2006 2:51:13

Post 44 by moyzey (i'm posting? huh?) on Friday, 06-Jul-2007 4:53:52

Why not try:
marmalade and chedder cheese sandwiches.
Their awesome

Post 45 by Lupinsgirl (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Thursday, 26-Jul-2007 15:03:36

When I was little I used to eat catchup and chese sandwitches. Not so much weard as discusting.

Post 46 by ezziejc (The Bathroom Skyper!) on Thursday, 18-Oct-2007 18:24:06

I've heard of the ketchup and cheese, thats livable-with.

The peanut butter and rice krispies is what we call a starbar - its all wrapped in chocolate of some type or other - not that good at identifying chocolate. Their superb!

Has anyone ever tried peanut butter and marmite? now that is the absolute king of the castle!

hmm, twiglets with sour cream dip - lush!

Post 47 by south park fan (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Tuesday, 23-Oct-2007 17:33:05

Hey all,
One time I dipped pretzels into my coke. It was actually pretty good. I also use to like to eat peanut butter and cheese sandwiches. They were delicious.

Post 48 by Austin's Angel (move over school!) on Tuesday, 23-Oct-2007 20:35:17

i forgot i posted this thing.
well, as for wierd combinations, my current roommate is pregnant, and last night she was telling me how much she'd love to have a sliced pickle and sliced pine apple mixed in a bowl. i'm sure there'll be more interesting ones in the near future.

Post 49 by SFAIdol (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Saturday, 12-Jan-2008 15:35:20

I know quite a few people that have fries and ranch dressing. My parents and one of my sisters have lemons put in their drinks whenever we go out to eat at restaurants. The sister is responsible for starting that. For example, they'll have a lemon with their water or Coke, whatever they're having. I haven't really tried it. As for me, whenever my dad grills chicken, I put Italian dressing on it to give it a little more taste, since it tastes dry without it and tastes really good

Post 50 by SFAIdol (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Sunday, 08-Jun-2008 14:54:43

I have another one. French fries and venegar.

Post 51 by voiceofjoy (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 21-Jun-2008 8:03:40

apple + milk
milk chocoalte and potatoe-chips ... sweet + salt.. mmm ;)

we do have a desert here, that might sound strange to you all, but i just love it .. and there i also have a lil local variation :)

apple-jam, kavring (would be dried crushed sweetrolls - fried with a lil bit of cinamon), cream, and (my variation) a littlebit of dark chocolate on top. mmmm!!!!!

greetigns from R and V.

I don't know if this counts, but butter and sugar sandwiches, I used to eat them all the time when I was little.
Also chips (crisps) and mayonaise sandwiches.
Chocolate dipped in tea is really good!
The weirdest thing I've ever ever heard of is porridge put in between two digestive biscuits! euww!

Post 53 by CrazedMidget (Sweet fantacy's really do come in small packages!) on Friday, 09-Jan-2009 18:43:43

Omg, i love ketch up and potatoe chips, and also fries and milk shakes. lol

Post 54 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Thursday, 15-Jan-2009 12:08:16

To post 52, the "crisps, chips, and mayonnaise sandwich" thing doesn't sound bad to me. *smile* I like fries with either ranch dressing, mayonaise, or tarter sauce, if not catsup, and I sometimes eat chips in my coldcut sandwitches. So your sandwich sounds interesting to try to me.

In general, a weird thing I've tried was mixing bagged salad (which had lettuce, cabbage, and carrot shreds) with mashed potatoes and chese. That tasted pretty good actually. *smile* And on New Year's Eve, when I was a little buzzed from drinking, I was dipping chicken wings into a liqeuor drink (not sure what the drink is called but to give an idea, it tastes a bit like children's flavored medicine). I can't say it tasted great, but it didn't taste too bad actually.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else specific that I've tried for now. But we have some bagles, and I would want to try making French toast using them. I think I might try that later today.

Post 55 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Thursday, 29-Jan-2009 1:30:13

I seriously seriously, love me some mack and cheese with catchup on top. a friend got me to try it in middle school and i really do like it now. although, i think i could eat mack and cheese with any thing over it.
